Basic Info
Name:Everett Hitch
Birthdate:1985-12-12
Location:Appaloosa, New Mexico, United States
Bio
The basics:

"Like my father, I'd been to West Point, and I was good at soldiering. But soldiering didn't allow too much for expansion of the soul. So after five years in the Indian Wars, I turned in my commission and rode away to see how far I could expand it."

Everett Hitch is a man who's seen a lot of things, and good at a lot of things too. He may not be great at anything, and he may not be as famous as Virgil Cole is when it comes to speed with a gun, but he's just fine with that. He's backup - that's what Virgil Cole hired him to do, fifteen years ago - and whatever Cole asks him to do, he does. He learned a long time ago not to question his good friend, and he doesn't.

He's never asked Virgil Cole for a favor, either.
The canon:

"When Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch arrive in Appaloosa, they find a town suffering at the hands of a renegade rancher who's already left the city marshal and one of his deputies dead. Cole and Hitch are used to cleaning up after scavengers, but this one raises the stakes by playing not with the rules - but with emotion."

The year is 1882, and the setting is a small, dusty, mining town - Appaloosa - in New Mexico Territory. Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch are two professional 'town tamers' - if you believe what the dime novels write - who are in the business of doing just that. Hired by the board that runs Appaloosa to take care of a 'problem' - a rancher named Randall Bragg and his hands who steal, fight, and raise hell without getting caught - Cole and Hitch take on the job.

It's a bit more than either bargained for...

...but they're used to that.

The extras:
For the sake of keeping the character sane, please do not canon puncture him - however, Everett is well aware that a few dime novels are floating around that tell the stories of some of the wilder towns they've tamed. Everett is human, non-magical, alive, and does not possess any special abilities of the supernatural or magical kind. He is not quick to anger, but will always have his eight-gauge shotgun on his person unless noted otherwise. He is polite, soft-spoken, well read, and courteous to the ladies, with a slight southwestern accent to his voice. This journal and the content may be considered 'adult' at times, so please take that into consideration before reading.

The PB is actor Viggo Mortensen.

Everett Hitch is not a real person, and is property of Robert B. Parker, author of Appaloosa, and this journal is being used solely for the purpose of role-playing at Milliways Bar, and no profit is being made from this writing exercise.
